FAQs
Answers to the questions we hear most before someone books a free assessment, or reach out directly if yours isn’t here.
What is the Shared Savings Program?
It’s our financing model that covers your lighting project cost upfront, so there’s nothing to pay before work begins. Your payment stays below the energy savings it creates every month, and once the program’s paid off, the system and every dollar of savings going forward belong to you, not us.
How is it different from Lighting as a Service or Energy as a Service?
Search for “lighting as a service” or “energy as a service” and most of what comes up is a subscription: you get a lower energy bill, but the company keeps ownership of the equipment and a share of your savings indefinitely. Our program is structured differently. Once it’s paid off, the system and 100% of the savings going forward belong to you, not us.
How long is the Shared Savings Program contract term?
The Shared Savings contract term is flexible and built around what works best for your business.
Rather than locking you into a fixed timeline, Ryan Lighting works directly with you to structure a payment schedule based on how long you’d like to finance the retrofit. A typical project is usually around 24 months, though because your monthly energy savings are designed to exceed your monthly payment, the term can be adjusted to fit your priorities, whether that means paying it off faster or spreading payments out over a longer period for maximum monthly cash flow.
During your free lighting assessment, we’ll walk through a few different term options so you can choose the one that makes the most sense for your business.
Will the work disrupt our daily operations?
In most cases, no. Installation gets scheduled around your normal business hours whenever possible, so your operations keep running while the work gets done.
How long does a project take from assessment to final installation?
Timelines vary based on your facility’s size and scope, but most projects move faster than people expect since our fixtures are engineered for quick installation. Your proposal will include a project-specific timeline once the assessment is complete.
What happens during a free assessment?
One of our technicians walks your facility and documents fixture counts, wattage, hours of use, and any problem areas, then uses that information to build your custom proposal. There’s no cost and no obligation, even if you decide not to move forward afterward.
