Results From Real Projects, Not Estimates

Every number below comes from a completed project, actual costs, actual savings, not a projected estimate. Three examples of what the Shared Savings Program has done for facilities across different industries.

Case Study #1: Anheuser-Busch Sales of Hawaii

Rising energy costs were squeezing operating expenses at Anheuser-Busch’s Hawaii distribution facility, made worse by some of the highest power costs in the country and steep labor and materials costs on the islands.

Through our Shared Savings Program, old inefficient lighting systems were replaced with brand-new, state-of-the-art LED fixtures at no upfront cost.

The $150,300 project delivered $66,906 in annual energy savings, a payback period of just under 30 months. Anheuser-Busch is projected to save about $670,000 over the next 10 years, and lighting levels increased across the board, in some cases by more than 65%.

Case Study #2: Sun Auto

Rising energy costs and aging fluorescent systems were becoming harder to maintain across Sun Auto’s California locations, and under the state’s AB 2208 fluorescent ban, replacement parts were being phased out entirely. Reduced lighting levels were already affecting visibility, safety, and the customer experience at multiple sites.

Through our Shared Savings Program, fluorescent fixtures were replaced with new LED systems across 10 locations in a single year, with nothing paid upfront and monthly savings that exceeded the payment from day one.

The $230,400 combined project delivered about $125,000 in annual energy savings, a payback period of roughly 24 months. Lighting levels increased more than 70% at several locations, and Sun Auto is projected to save $1.25 million or more over the next 10 years, all without a single dollar paid upfront.

Case Study #3: Seafirst Bank Corporate Offices

Seafirst Bank’s corporate offices ran on fixtures holding four fluorescent lamps each, across a workspace where employees spend eight or more hours a day. That setup drove high energy consumption, and even new fluorescent lamps can buzz or flicker. For staff working at screens all day, that meant reported headaches and tired, achy eyes. Any change also had to respect how particular people are about their own workspace, from cubicles to corner offices.

We replaced each four-lamp fluorescent fixture with two high-efficiency LED lamps, reducing lighting energy consumption by more than 70%. The new LEDs produce no flicker, giving employees steady light across the full workday. We also secured a $182,000 utility incentive, which cut the project’s net cost significantly.

  • Project cost: $427,000
  • Utility incentive: $182,000
  • Annual energy savings: $167,000
  • Payback: just under 18 months

Beyond the savings, employees reported feeling physically better after the lighting upgrade, with fewer complaints about headaches and eye strain, and the client saw an overall lift in workplace mood and productivity. With a large rebate, fast payback, and a visibly improved office, this project made sense on every level.
